The home screen is where it all begins. You can choose between entering a link to a media file, uploading a file or browsing Youtube for a video.
With this option you can enter a link which either points to a media file directly which is located on a web server or to a supported website like Youtube. Please see the Supported websites, file formats and protocols section in the help center for supported sources.
Please note that premium users have better support for links which point to websites like Youtube and Vimeo.
So they can convert more videos which are embedded into Flash players.
Choose this option if you want to convert a file that is located on your harddisk.
Please see the
Supported websites, file formats and protocols
section in the help center for supported file types.
Please note that premium users can convert files up to 1GB while free users can only convert files up to 100MB.
If you want to search Youtube for a video you can choose this option. Enter a keyword and search for a video.
You can add the video to the queue by clicking the "add to queue" link below the video thumbnail.
After selecting the videos click the "back" button below the search field to go back to the home screen.
This icon only appears if you have files to convert in the queue.
At the bottom of the conversion wizard is the task queue. All files which were selected for conversion are listed here.
You can remove them by clicking the "remove" link at the right-hand side.
As soon as the conversion has started you can keep track of the conversion progress here.
There are various task states. After starting the conversion most of the files are listed as "pending".
This means that the conversion has not yet started. As soon as the task has been sent to a conversion server
you can see a progress bar.
After the conversion you can download the file by clicking the "download" link on the right-hand side.
Here you can select the target file type. After selecting the format which fits your needs best, you can start the conversion.
Please note that only premium users can select HD profiles for the best output quality.
